Taha Lotia and Swarali Shinkhedkar, the visionary minds behind Space Theory (www.spacetheory.in), an innovative interior design company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, embarked on their entrepreneurial journey in 2016. The inception of their company can be traced back to a casual conversation over a cup of tea at their favorite chai tapri, where a friend suggested they try their hand at designing a relative’s house for practice. Intrigued by the idea, they enthusiastically took on their first project, a 3 BHK residential space. Little did they know that this humble beginning would pave the way for the remarkable success that Space Theory would achieve in the years to come, having successfully completed 72 projects to date.
Space Theory has established itself as a prominent player in the field, undertaking both residential and commercial projects across India. With a firm belief that good interior design has the power to soothe the soul, Taha, Swarali, and their talented team strive to create spaces that bring contentment and confidence to their clients. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant hurdles as projects were put on hold, and they had to navigate the uncertainties while managing their team and expenses. Space Theory thrived on the power of references, leveraging the strength of word-of-mouth to grow their business in Gujarat.
The recent completion of Makeba, a stunning 6000 sqft restaurant in Ahmedabad with both indoor and outdoor seating, stands as a testament to their team’s capabilities. The project was completed within a tight timeline, showcasing their dedication and expertise. Sustainability is a core value for Space Theory, and they take pride in refurbishing old furniture with sentimental value, breathing new life into cherished pieces and delighting their clients.
