Founded by Aashish Aman and Akhshat Sri Mohan in 2017, Equinox’s Drones Pvt Ltd, have been successfully using advanced technologies for aerial surveying, data processing and analysing, thereby helping it’s client across varied industries. Valued at 127 billion dollars, the drone market in India is lucrative and is considered as a service oriented industry with high demand, and that’s where the growth story of this start-up lies.
On asking, how it all started, Aashish candidly confesses that
“I’ve been enthused since the start, being inspired by the growing technology of drones, and that’s how the passion grew to build my own empire.” Today with clients from Construction and Infrastructure, Mining and Agriculture domain, Equinox is consistently delivering high level services.
Taking inspiration from Dalai Lama, both Aashish and Akhshat feels that patience is key to success and for their kind of business it has paid off quite well. They are also adventurous in their entrepreneurial journey and doesn’t hold back in taking risk as being pointed out by Akhshat
“It is a proven fact that unless we take the risk, of executing something, we will never discover the output. This is imminent for growth and I consider it as an important principle in my journey.” Today Equinox’s contribution to the future of major industries such as mining, roadways, railways, construction, commercials advertisements, event industry, agriculture, and infrastructure has been proved beyond doubt.
Like any other entrepreneurial journey, Equinox too had to face many hardships initially. The first problem was all about capital investment. In order to fund software, product development, office space and marketing, they needed capital. Also finding the right talent to run the firm was a major challenge. Laying out a hiring strategy early on was an obstacle they had to overcome. However, they encountered major problem while scaling up the business. Competitions were identified and tackled for the survival of business in the market.
Aashish never shied away from taking challenges. And that has been a character of a successful entrepreneur. He rightly researched the market to understand the market demand and identify consumer segments. He also enjoys learning new things and is constantly seeking out new learning opportunities to grow. Building up a start-up gave him all the opportunities to learn about the in’s and out’s of this industry, and take on tasks which wouldn’t have been possible at a larger company. He admits that
“I am not afraid of failure, in-fact I consider them as an essential part of the journey that gets you to success.”
