My name is Shweta Ahuja, and I am the founder of Shweta Ahuja Interiors, situated at Ratan Orbit, Indranagar, Kanpur. I grew up in Kanpur, where my family was involved in the hosiery business, and I was raised with love and support. Despite having no prior knowledge of architecture or interior design within my family, I was always a bright student and had a strong inclination towards creativity.
Overcoming initial concerns about my safety, I developed a passion for drawing and creativity from an early age. Participating in drawing competitions and taking up projects for my siblings further fueled my desire to pursue a career in the creative and technical field of interior design.
Choosing a path that no one in my family had pursued before came with objections, but my love for art and the vision of creating beautiful spaces for people drove me forward. I enrolled in the INIFD Institute for Interior & Fashion Design in Kanpur after completing my B.Com from Christ Church College.
Having graduated in 2013, I embarked on my independent interior design practice, specializing in Budget Premium interiors. I strongly believe that everyone deserves to experience luxury living, and my goal is to create a paradise for all through my designs.
Gauri Khan, a successful interior designer and entrepreneur, serves as my role model. Her achievements and dedication in the field inspire me to reach similar heights in my profession.
As an entrepreneur, I have faced challenges and learned the importance of versatility and knowledge in various aspects of the business, such as marketing, collaborating with contractors and suppliers, and understanding market trends.
Witnessing the joy of families living happily in the spaces I design motivates me to continue doing meaningful work. In this competitive industry, understanding clients’ requirements and psychology is essential to provide the best possible service.
For aspiring entrepreneurs in this field, I believe offering a comprehensive, tech-enabled, transparent, high-quality, and innovative design solution while focusing on clients’ needs is crucial for success.
